and making a difference is important to Walter Eye Clinic

Congenital Glaucoma Research

After being diagnosed with Congenital Glaucoma at 5 months old, Dr. Mindi Kieffer Rana knows the great care she received has brought her to where she is today. Walter Eye Clinic wants to do what they can to help ensure every child diagnosed with Congenital Glaucoma and other rare eye diseases has access to cutting edge healthcare no matter how far they live. Growing up in South Dakota, the closest pediatric eye surgeon was 6 hours away at the University of Minnesota hospital. After driving all night, they were able to get Mindi to the hospital to have a procedure done first thing in the morning that saved her vision. Therefore, each year Walter Eye Clinic makes a generous donation to The University of Minnesota Pediatric Ophthalmology Department, where Dr. Kieffer Rana had her surgery and received years of care.

Walter Eye Clinic also looks forward to hosting drives and local fundraisers for our community. Check back to see how you can get involved. Our team is passionate about helping, serving, and making our world a better place.

Krayons for Kids

It’s back to school time and the doctors at Walter Eye Clinic want to help those kids and classrooms that are in desperate need of school supplies. For every child who gets an eye exam during the month of August, that child can select a school supply and the doctors will donate it in the patients name. We will then fill backpacks with all the school supplies and donate them to a local school, which can disperse them among students and classrooms. We love to support our community, schools, and teachers.
